Jeffrey A. Greenberg

Jeffrey Greenberg became a partner in the firm in 1995. His primary areas of practice are entertainment, intellectual property and corporate law. He represents a diverse group of entertainment and media clients in the fields of film and television production, recording, comedy events and programming, music publishing, theater, live event production and touring, branding, advertising, event marketing and sponsorship, designer and gourmet food and fashion brands and celebrity estate and archive organization and licensing.

Jeffrey transitioned an early career as a working musician and songwriter into a legal and business affairs position at Arista Records. He joined the law firm Weil, Gotshal & Manges as a corporate associate in 1987, where he worked extensively on media industry mergers and acquisitions. He joined the entertainment law practice at Beldock Levine & Hoffman in 1989.

Since joining the firm, Jeffrey has also been active as a record producer and notes writer on numerous recording and reissue projects. He is a producer of the “Papa John Phillips Presents” series of albums of solo work by John Phillips of The Mamas and The Papas. He also produces “The Alan Lomax Collection,” a series of over 100 albums of field recordings and recordings made for the Library of Congress by Alan Lomax and his father, John A. Lomax. In 2005, Jeffrey won a Grammy Award as Compilation Producer in the category “Best Historical Album” for the box set “Jelly Roll Morton: The Complete Library of Congress Recordings by Alan Lomax.” In 2006, this work was awarded the Prix Charles Cros for historical and editorial work by l'Acadamie Charles Cros in Paris.
