Estate of Samuel Harrell v. DOCCS et al.
BLH attorneys Jonathan Moore and Luna Droubi represent the family of Samuel Harrell, who was brutally killed by Corrections Officers on April 21, 2015. Samuel Harrell, who was just 30 years old, was incarcerated in Building 21 at Fishkill Correctional Facility. He was serving an eight year sentence for one count of criminal sale of a controlled substance.
BLH attorneys conducted an extensive investigation and received fifteen (15) sworn affidavits that provided accounts of a brutal beating and attempted cover up. An inmate wrote: “I feel much relief that someone is paying attention to our cause here because for so long we had no voice.” Another wrote, simply, “I want this to stop.”
BLH filed a lawsuit in the Southern District of New York on September 9, 2016.
