Torey joined BLH as counsel in 2025. Her practice focuses on police and governmental misconduct, civil rights, and freedom of information lawsuits. Prior to joining the firm, Torey worked on individual civil rights actions, multidistrict litigation, and impact litigation challenging unconstitutional policing practices and policy. She was a Cleary Gottlieb Pro Bono Fellow, a John Marshall Harlan Scholar, and has assisted individuals with criminal appeals, record sealing, clemency petitions, and other forms of post-conviction relief. Also a licensed social worker, Torey was a mitigation specialist for the Legal Aid Society’s Criminal Defense Practice for several years before becoming an attorney.
