NEW YORK, NY. (April 22, 2026) –

Judge Jennifer H. Rearden ordered the release of BLH Client Oleg Burokhov from prison today, after granting his habeas corpus petition. Mr. Borukhov is a stateless resident of the United States who has lived in New York since he was a child. He was detained by ICE at a scheduled check in at 26 Federal Plaza on December 16, 2025, without any prior notice. The Court determined that the official who ordered his detention was not authorized to do so, in violation of Mr. Borukhov’s Fifth Amendment right to procedural due process.

Mr. Borukhov is represented by Luna Droubi, Matthew Melewski, Jeremy Ravinsky and Tala Alfoqaha of Beldock Levine & Hoffman LLP.
